Concrete Patios in the Dayton area
Patios are where decorative concrete earns its keep. We form the shape to your yard, pour a slab that drains away from the house, and finish it in the texture and color you picked — sealed so it still looks that way in five years.
What patios work includes
- Stamped, exposed aggregate, or smooth broom finish
- Integral color and antiquing release options
- Positive drainage pitched away from the foundation
- Sealed on completion, with a resealing schedule
Where the water goes decides how long it lasts
A patio is a large flat surface pressed up against a house, which makes drainage the whole job. We pitch the slab away from the foundation at roughly an eighth to a quarter inch per foot — enough to shed water, not enough to feel like a slope underfoot — and set a compressible isolation joint where the slab meets the house so the two can move independently. Downspout discharge gets routed past the new surface rather than onto it.
Colour and texture get decided outside, on your property
Concrete colour is chosen from physical samples in daylight, not from a screen, because integral colour, the antiquing release, and the sealer all shift the final tone. Colour also has to be batched consistently across the whole pour, which is why a patio is placed continuously rather than in pieces on separate days. Sealer is what holds that colour: plan on resealing every two to three years, sooner on a surface in full afternoon sun.
